Chhello Show, India’s official entry to the 95th Academy Awards, will be available to Netflix subscribers in India from November 25. Chhello Show, a Gujarati film, was released in Indian theaters on October 14. 

Pan Nalin’s semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama follows nine-year-old Samay as tries everything in quest of his 35mm aspirations.

The film, according to its creators, is set against the backdrop of Indian theaters that underwent the change from celluloid to digital, where hundreds of single-screen theaters are either abandoned or have completely vanished.

Nalin expressed his happiness in working with Netflix to promote the movie to a broader audience. He said, “Last Film Show is a celebration of films, food, friends, and family and now audiences across India can do exactly that from the comfort of their homes while watching it.”

The filmmaker also added, “As a filmmaker, I dream that the movie reaches the maximum number of people, and now, thanks to Netflix, Last Film Show is just a click away”. 

Netflix India shared the trailer of the film on Twitter and captioned it, “An extraordinary cinematic experience, Last Film Show, India’s Official Selection for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Oscars is streaming from Nov 25 in Hindi & Gujarati on Netflix!”

Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and the team of Roy Kapur Films also expressed their excitement as Chhello Show has found its home at Netflix India. Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur said, “We are sure that the magic and beauty of Nalin’s cinematic creation will enrapture Netflix audiences in India, just as it has with theatrical audiences in India and around the world”. 

The movie will also be available with Hindi dubbing on Netflix.

Producer Dheer Momaya of Jugaad Motion Pictures also shared, “I’m elated that our film will be made available on Netflix India. They have a highly engaged subscriber base in India, and it will be great for families to enjoy this film from the comfort of their home during the year-end holiday season.”

Chhello Show has been screened in several prominent film festivals, including Tribeca and the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema. This movie has also won the best picture award at the recent Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles. Chhello Show was awarded the Golden Spike for Best Film at the 66th Valladolid Film Festival. 

Recently on October 2, Rahul Koli, one of the six child protagonists of Chhello Show, died at the age of ten. He was battling with leukemia for a long time.
