Coachella 2023 is happening, and the famous Indio music festival is slated to take place during its usual time in mid-April. Like most events, Coachella took a break for two years when the world grappled with the coronavirus pandemic, in 2020 and 2021.
However, it returned in 2022 with Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Swedish House Mafia with The Weeknd, as headliners. The two weekends came with their share of surprises, including Eilish introducing Damon Albarn during her sets, and Styles bringing on Lizzo and Shania Twain to the stage.
Audiences were also shocked by the reunion of popular K-pop group 2NE1, who used the event to announce the news. Apart from that, 88rising’s Head In The Clouds Forever showcase saw girl group aespa making their stateside festival debut at Coachella 2022.
Coachella 2023 dates and location
Coachella 2023 will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, over the weekends of April 14-16 and April 21-23.

Frank Ocean is headlining the upcoming edition of the music festival. He was first tapped to perform in 2020, but COVID had other plans.

The festival also tried to get Ocean for 2022, but he wasn’t available.
Los Angeles Times in its 2021 exclusive first reported that Ocean had been tapped to headline, with co-founder Paul Tollett noting how the performer’s tryst with the festival had run into a pandemic-shaped hurdle.
Coachella history:
Coachella started in October 1999 and has seen various artists perform over the years. These include Radiohead, The Cure, Beyoncé, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Beck, Morrissey, Björk, Beastie Boys, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Muse, AC/DC, among others.

However, the first edition of the event hadn’t been too successful, leading to it being cancelled before Coachella returned again and continued its upward trend ever since.
Advance ticket sales for the 2023 edition began on June 17, Friday.
