Coolio, the American rapper, actor and music producer, died aged 59 on Wednesday in Los Angeles, California. He rose to fame with his 1995 song Gangsta Paradise and his screen debut took place in the same year with the movie Dear God.

Since then the actor has appeared in at least 16 movies and 30 TV shows. Here’s a look at five of his best movies and TV shows.

1. Batman & Robin (1997 movie)

In Batman and Robin (1997), Coolio played the role of the DC supervillain Jonathan Crane. The movie saw the actor appearing big names like George Clooney and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The movie was made with a budget of $125 million but managed to gross $238 million worldwide.

2. Dracula 3000 (2004 movie)

Dracula 3000 is low-rated a science fiction movie in which Coolio played the character 187. Although the movie did not run well and received several negative reviews, it is a fun watch for vampire film lovers. Coolio’s role as 187 is especially worth remembering.

3. Red Water (2003 movie)

Red Water is a television horror film about a man-eating shark that can survive in freshwater. Coolio plays Ice, one in a group attacked by sharks in the movie. The movie was produced by Sony Pictures and released on the Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) in August 2003.

4. Coolio’s Rules (TV show)

Coolio’s Rules is a reality TV show produced by Oxygen Studios. It stars Coolio along with four of his children from ex-wife Josefa Salinas. In the 6-episode series, the actor tries to balance his music career, romance, being a single parent, and managing a budding catering business. 

5. Cookin’ with Coolio (TV show)

Cooking with Coolio was an off-shoot of Coolio’s Rule, and it was aired on the My Damn Channel network. It was produced by Dead Crow Pictures and was a promotion for a cookbook by Coolio of the same name. It’s a normal cook show with Coolio as the host.
