Dan Bilzerian was the self-proclaimed ‘king of Instagram’ and his posts showed a lavish lifestyle featuring women, guns, and exotic locations. However, Bilzerian’s reduced his social media presence quite a bit, which is surprising considering he’s trying to promote Ignite – a smoking products brand, among other things.

His most recent post has the internet in a tizzy again, since the 41-year-old appears to have tied the knot

However, beneath Bilzerian’s glamourous lifestyle lurks a few controversies that likely kept the Armenian-American poker player away from his social media handles for a while.

Mayhem in Miami

In 2014, a woman sued Bilzerian for kicking her in the face, in a Miami nightclub. She alleged that the trust fund baby was on the stage and kicked her with military boots, causing her to bleed from the face and eye, TMZ reported at the time.

The same year, Bilzerian was sued by pornstar Janice Griffith, who alleged that the stunt where she was thrown from the roof into a pool, for a photoshoot, resulted in a broken foot.

Bilzerian’s lawyer replied to opposing counsel, “Your client should just box up almost every last bit of her property (please exclude all videos and photographs as well as the seemingly inevitable small yappy dog) and drop it off with you in safe-keep for Mr Bilzerian. After he receives the judgement in his favour, he will have it all delivered to him. Then he will probably blow it up with a mortar in the desert”, detailing what would happen if the case was pursued.

Sins of the father

Reports from within Bilzerian’s company claimed that his father, Paul, was running the show. This raised questions about the legality of Bilzerian’s venture since Paul’s a convicted felon barred from carrying out any trading.

Despite this, Bilzerian claimed he’d stepped back from social media because he’d lived the life of an influencer. He’s also claimed that Ignite is a global success.
