Did Matthew Perry date Jennifer Anniston?

Actor Matthew Perry revealed that his romantic feelings toward his ‘Friends’ co-star Jennifer Aniston had “dissipated” when he realized she was interested in David Schwimmer. The actor, who was 53 at the time, shared that he had a clear understanding of the dynamics between his co-stars during the filming of the sitcom.

Speaking on the Jess Cagle podcast on November 3, Perry described his initial emotions towards Jennifer: “But at first, it was just like, she would walk in, and I’d be like, ‘Hey, good to see you!’ and I’d go to my dressing room, and I’d just go, ‘Oh, I’ll never be able to be with her.'” Over time, he contemplated letting go of these feelings for the actress, acknowledging that it had been enough.

During the ‘Friends’ reunion show, Aniston, who was 53 at the time, had confessed her feelings for David, who was 56 when they were working on ‘Friends.’ Perry mentioned that after moving on from Jennifer, he developed feelings for his ‘Friends’ love interest, Courteney Cox, as well as their other female co-star, Lisa Kudrow. He admitted that these crushes made it somewhat challenging to go to work, as he had to conceal his feelings.

Perry made these revelations during the promotional tour for his new memoir, which delves into his intense struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. He disclosed that he had his first drink at 14 and was drinking daily by the age of 18. His substance abuse eventually escalated to taking 55 Vicodin pills a day. This lifestyle had dire consequences, including a burst colon due to drug abuse, which led to 14 surgeries and left him with lasting scars that serve as a constant reminder to stay on the path to sobriety.
