Matthew Mindler, former ‘As the World Turns’ child actor who went missing from Millersville University campus in Pennsylvania earlier this week, was found dead on Saturday. 

Confirming the death, the university said in a statement, “It is with a grieving heart that I let you know of the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a first-year student at Millersville University. A search had been underway for Matthew since Thursday, after he was reported missing. Matthew was found deceased this morning, Saturday, August 28, in Manor Township near campus.”

The cause of death was not known. His body has been sent for an autopsy. 

The teen was reportedly last been seen walking from his residence hall toward the Centennial Drive parking lot area on Tuesday night. He was wearing a white Millersville University hooded sweatshirt and had a black backpack. He did not attend class on Wednesday following which he was reported missing to the police. 

“Matt was reported missing to University Police late last evening after he did not return to his room or return phone calls from his family. Matt was last seen walking from his residence hall, West Villages toward the Centennial Dr. parking lot area at 8:11 p.m. Tuesday night,” Millersville University had tweeted.

After his body was found, university President Daniel A. Wubah said, “This is a time of grief for the family, our campus and the community. I ask that the campus community come together to support each other, and our students, during this difficult time.”

The teen is best known for starring alongside Paul Rudd in the 2011 dramedy, ‘Our Idiot Brother’, in which he played the role of River. He also acted on an episode of the 2009 series ‘As the World Turns’. His last project, ‘Chad: An American Boy,’ premiered in 2016.
