A female fan meeting his favourite star and the latter instantly falls in love with her, this probably reads like a film script but in the case of southern actor Thalapathy Vijay, it was a reality. The superstar, who is celebrating his 47th birthday today, got married to one of his female fans.
In 1996, Vijay was basking in the success of his then recently released movie %u2018Poove Unakkaga%u2019, when he first saw Sangeetha. The actor was shooting for his then-upcoming movie at %u2018Film City%u2019, Chennai and during one of the breaks, he came across a beautiful young girl, who came to visit the actor to congratulate him for the success of %u2018Poove Unakkaga%u2019.
Sangeetha had seen the film and was so impressed by his performance that she decided to visit Vijay personally to let him know that she really liked his work.
The two greeted each other pleasantly and chatted for a while. The sweet gesture of Sangeetha touched Vijay’s heart and he asked her if she would like to visit his house and meet his parents for a chat, to which she agreed, according to multiple reports.
Vijay’s parents were impressed by Sangeetha and her simplicity but they had no idea that the girl would one day become their daughter-in-law. The same was shared by Vijay’s mother, in one of her interviews.
Soon after the meeting, the actor had developed a liking for Sangeetha. Vijay invited her again at her place and this time, his parents knew that she was the one for Vijay.
During the meeting, his father asked Sangeetha if she would like to marry Vijay and she gladly agreed to the proposal.
Vijay and Sangeetha tied the knot on August 25, 1999. They have two children, a son Jason Sanjay born in 2000 , and a daughter Divya Shasha born in 2005.
