The ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ sequel from Legendary Entertainment will return for filming in Australia later this year.

The movie is expected to be filmed at the Gold Coast as well as other locations in Southeast Queensland state. This marks the third Monsterverse movie to be shot in this region. Previously, ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ was shot on the Gold Coast in 2019 and ‘Kong: Skull Island’ was filmed in the state in 2016.

Both authorities have noted that they expect the new film production to create over $88 million for the economy, employ over 500 local cast and crew members, and include more than 750 extras.

While there’s no word on where the sequel will pick up, the last film saw King Kong and Godzilla depart on good terms. After saving the day, Godzilla was more than happy to return to his home underwater while Kong went into the depths of Hollow Earth to assert his dominance there. However, we know well that as long as mankind has the need for them, neither Godzilla nor King Kong will know peace.
