Paul Sorvino, an American actor known for his screen performances including “Goodfellas” and “Law & Order,” died Monday of natural causes. He was 83.

“I am completely devastated The love of my life & the most wonderful man who has ever lived is gone. I am heartbroken,” his wife, DeeDee Sorvino, posted on Instagram.

Goodfellas:

Goodfellas is a 1990 American biographical crime film directed by Martin Scorsese, written by Nicholas Pileggi and Scorsese, and produced by Irwin Winkler.

The film is an adaptation of the 1985 nonfiction book Wiseguy by Pileggi. The film stars Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino. It narrates the rise and fall of mob associate Henry Hill and his friends and family from 1955 to 1980. Sorvino plays caporegime Paul Cicero in the film.

A Touch of Class:

Sorvino appeared in George Segal-starring film with a prominent supporting role in the Academy Award-winning romantic comedy. The 1973 British romantic comedy film was produced and directed by Melvin Frank, telling the story of a couple having an affair, who find themselves falling in love. Apart from Sorvino and Segal, the film also starred Glenda Jackson, Hildegarde Neil and K Callan. It was nominated for five Academy Awards. 

It Couldn’t Happen to a Nicer Guy:

Sorvino played Harry Walters, a real estate salesman randomly picked up by a beautiful woman (JoAnna Cameron) and raped at gunpoint as a prank. The film was co-written and produced by Arne Sultan as an ABC Movie of the Week installment.

The Rocketeer:

The Rocketeer (released internationally as The Adventures of the Rocketeer) is a 1991 American period superhero film from Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures. It was produced by Charles Gordon, Lawrence Gordon, and Lloyd Levin. The film was directed by Joe Johnston and stars Bill Campbell, Jennifer Connelly, Alan Arkin, Timothy Dalton and Tiny Ron Taylor as well. It is based on the character of the same name created by comic book artist and writer Dave Stevens.

The Stuff:

The Stuff (also known as Larry Cohen’s The Stuff) is a 1985 American satirical science fiction horror film. It was written and directed by Larry Cohen. Apart from Sorvino, it also starred Michael Moriarty, Garrett Morris and Andrea Marcovicci.

It was also the last film of noted actor Alexander Scourby.

The film is about a sweet and addictive alien substance that becomes a popular dessert in the United States, but soon its starts  attacking people and turning them into zombies. This film is a satire on the American lifestyle and consumer society.
