Marvel Studios released the first trailer of the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Tuesday. The biggest highlight of the trailer is a cameo by actor Kevin Bacon as his own self

As it turns out in the trailer, the guardians break into the home of “legendary Kevin Bacon”, after chasing him for some time. They are trying to organise a grand Christmas on earth to cheer up Star Lord (Chris Patt), who is sad because Gamora (Zoe Saldana) has been killed in Avengers Infinity War. She was sacrificed by Thanos to obtain the Soul Stone on Vormir.

Announcing the Holiday trailer in July 2022, writer/ director of the series, James Gunn, told Entertainment Tonight: “We get all the holiday goodness that you would expect from a Guardians Christmas special with very little understanding of what Christmas actually is because they are in outer space.”

The movie will release on Disney+ on November 25, 2022.

The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is set for a third theatrical release on May 5, 2022, titled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The team has already finished filming the movie and the Holiday special trailer is meant as a build-up for the third Guardians film.

“It’s so, so big and dark and different from what people might be expecting it to be. I just want to be true to the characters, the story and give people the wrap-up that they deserve for the story,” Gunn had told Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast.
