Jo Jung-Seok is a South Korean actor who made his presence felt in the entertainment industry with his debut film ‘Architecture 101’. Born in 1980, Jo Jung-Seok began his career in theatre, he starred in many musicals and plays.

He made his theatre debut with ‘The Nutcracker’ in 2004. He also appeared in ‘Organ in My Heart’, ‘Janggeum’,  ‘The Island’ among others.

Jo Jung-Seok is currently starring in tvN’s drama ‘Hospital Playlist Season 2’. Season 1 of the show ended with the highest viewership ratings with 14.1%. Jo Jung-Seok plays the role of Lee Ik-Jun, an assistant professor of general surgery at Yulje Medical Centre.

He also starred in successful dramas such as, ‘The King 2 Hearts’, ‘Oh My Ghostess’ alongside Park Bo-young, ‘Don’t Dare to Dream’ with Gong Hyo-jin, MBC’s ‘Two Cops’ and ‘Nokdu Flower’.

Jo Jung-Seok was also part of hit films such as ‘My Love, My Bride’ with Shin Min-ah, ‘My Annoying Brother’ alongside Park Shin-Hye and EXO’s D.O and ‘Exit’ with Girls Generations’ YoonA.

In 2018 Jo Jung-Seok married his longtime girlfriend Gummy. Last year in August the couple welcomed their first daughter. In an interview with Sports Chosun, Jo Jung-Seok said that his wife Gummy monitors all his projects as a viewer.

According to Soompi, he said, “I let her listen to ‘Aloha’ before its release, and she supported me by saying that it will receive a lot of love since it’s fitting for the season. She was a great source of support.”

Talking about his amazing chemistry with his on-screen son Kim Jun he said, “When working with child actors, I try to meet them at their level and talk while leading an atmosphere that seems like we’re playing. Although the time we’re acting together is important, I think the time we spend together before or after filming is also really important.”
