PrimeTime Emmy
PrimeTime Emmy Awards are presented to recognize excellence in American primetime television programming. It is held every year in mid-September and the event is broadcasted in rotation among the ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox networks. This year the primetime Emmy ceremony will take place on September 12 and will be hosted by comedian Kenan Thompson.
A few days prior to the Emmy Awards, a separate Creative Arts Emmy ceremony is held where awards are presented to personnel who are involved in art direction, costume designing, cinematography, and others.
Daytime Emmy
Daytime Emmy Awards are presented to recognize some excellent work in American daytime television programming. The first daytime Emmy Awards were presented in 1972 and every year the event is held in May or June. The Daytime Emmy Awards are given based on votes and judgment of the members of the NATAS.
News & Documentary Emmy Awards
The News & Documentary Emmy Awards are presented for excellence in national news and documentary programming. These awards are also given based on votes and judgment of the members of the NATAS. This year the nominations were published on August 16 and the award ceremony will take place on September 28, 2022, in New York City.

Sports Emmy Awards
The Sports Emmy Awards are presented for excellence in sports programming. The Sports Emmy Awards are held every year during April or the early week of May. The awards are presented based on Voting done by peer judging panels of NATAS.
Apart from the four major types of Emmy Awards, there are International Emmy Kids Awards and The Primetime Engineering Emmy Awards. International Emmy Kids Awards are given to kids and child artists who have shown excellence in the field of work they have done. This year it will be presented on November 21 at the 50th International Emmy Awards Ceremony in New York City. The Primetime Engineering Emmy Awards are presented to honor individuals, companies and technical organizations for their significant developments and contributions to the engineering and technological aspects of television.
