International Women’s
day is here and whether we are a homemaker, a professional, or an entrepreneur,
we all come together to remember how strong we are. So how about making this
day memorable for all the women in your life- be it your wife, mother, daughter
or sister.

Ruchita Bansal,
Founder & Creative Director of Izhaar, says that it is the day to celebrate
womanhood and let women know and feel how truly special they are to society.

“Maybe women don’t
want anything superfluous from you. But, embracing them tightly or saying ‘how
much you appreciate them’ with flowers is just about enough to make them feel
special,
” she told Opoyi.

She adds that “women
love honesty.”

“On this special day,
come out with all your emotions that you store inside your heart about her.
Maybe you haven’t told her yet how beautiful and confident she looks or how
beautifully she is balancing her personal and professional life. So, say it
now. Even if you don’t like anything about her, tell it to her in a polite
tone. Choose your words carefully,” she said.

Bansal also says that
“women feel special when you remember little things about them that they
cherish.”

“How many times your
wife, sister, friend, or mother has told you that butterscotch is her favourite
ice cream flavour. So, bring it to her on this day and see how beautifully she
smiles,” she said.

The entrepreneur also
says that “every day the woman in your life cooks what you prefer to eat; she
wears clothes in which you’d like to see her in” so on this day “ask her about
what she really likes. Cook for her and surprise her or do as she wishes on
this day.”

Interior Designer
Punam Kalra, Creative Director of I’M The Centre for Applied Arts, says that
she looks forward to a day when women get to dwell in a more inclusive world where
equality is the most pronounced across all spheres.

“The diversity must be
readily embraced by the coming generation and the gender norms must be long
forgotten to create a world where women stand proud with their femininity. The
feminine attributes shall step up to be synonymous with power and reflect on
the future of womanhood.

These dreams for the
coming times have been a product of my past when I was the first in many to
become a woman entrepreneur who chose to shine in a divergent professional stream,”
she said.
