Irrfan Khan was one of Bollywood’s most revered actors known for his acting prowess and wise taste in choosing scripts. He succumbed to a neuroendocrine tumor on April 29, 2020, and left behind his three-decade-long career in Indian and international cinema.

The Lunchbox (2013)
Starring Khan as Saajan and Nimrat Kaur as Ila, the film portrays the budding bond between the duo which gradually develops through a tiffin service in the city of Mumbai. Ila, who sends lunch for her husband, gets the box accidentally delivered to Saajan.
According to reports, Khan opted for this film over a role in ‘Interstellar’.
Hindi Medium (2017)
The film revolves around a middle-class father’s journey to enroll his kid in an expensive school. Faced with several challenges, Khan’s character leaves a strong social message through a monologue in the third act of the film.

Life of Pi (2012)
Directed by Ang Lee, the film follows the journey of Pi Patel, who survives a shipwreck and spends days on a lifesaver boat with a Bengal tiger. The movie garnered critical acclaim for its excellent cinematography and acting performances. Khan played the elder version of Patel in the film.

Paan Singh Tomar (2010)
The film is inspired by the life of Paan Singh Tomar, an army officer and a steeple chase athlete. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film shows how Tomar, played by Khan, murdered his mother for vengeance.
Piku (2015)
Starring Khan, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan, the Shoojit Sircar directorial revolves around a father-daughter duo- Piku and Bhaskor. Khan essayed the role of Rana Chaudhary, a taxi driver in the film who embarks on a Delhi to Kolkata road trip with the duo.
