Chris Rock criticized Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith on his live Netflix special Selective Outrage just a few days prior, and now, according to Daily Mail, Rock is “obsessed” with her.

Rock, 58, has already drawn criticism from many fans for filming his special in Baltimore, the city where Pinkett Smith was born and raised. In it, he discussed many topics, including Jada’s “entanglement” with August Alsina, Smith’s Oscar slap, and much more.

According to a source close to Pinkett Smith, 51, Rock has been “obsessed” with Jada for years and she is unrelated to the turmoil, according to People. “Jada has had no part in all of this other than being heckled. Chris is obsessed with her and that’s been going on for almost 30 years,” according to Daily Mail.

“Look where he chose to film his Netflix special. Her hometown [of Baltimore]. Obsessed,” said the source.

Rock made light of Jada during a segment of the special after she asked him not to host the Oscars after he was passed over for his role in the 2015 film Concussion.

“Years ago, his wife said I should quit the Oscars. I shouldn’t host ’cause her man didn’t get nominated for Concussion. And then he gives me a concussion,” Rock remarked in the show.

“She never asked Chris to not host ever. She publicly said in a Facebook post at the time Chris would be a great Oscars host and is perfect for the job. Back in 2016, she helped start a movement with the Academy Awards by questioning why there are so few Black members, and Chris took it to this?” Daily Mail’s source stated.

“I did some jokes about her,” Rock said in the special. “Who gives a f**k? That’s how it is: She starts it, I finish it,”  Rock explained. “That’s what the f**k happened. Nobody’s pickin’ on this b*tch. She started this s**t. Nobody was pickin’ on her,” Rock added.

According to the source, Jada was “shocked at how many times Chris used the word b*tch in referring to Jada.” Jada is looking to move on from the drama, according to a source, who adds, “Right now, Jada is focused on her book, which will be released this year.”

Nearly a year has passed since Will Smith, Jada’s spouse of more than 25 years, calmly entered the Oscar stage and smacked Rock across the face for making a joke about her bald head before she publicly revealed she has alopecia.

Before receiving his first Oscar for King Richard, Smith yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!” from a seat close to the platform. Although Smith resigned from the Academy and was barred from all activities and events for ten years, he repeatedly apologized to Rock and his supporters in front of the public.

Although sources now claim that Smith has “felt terrible for so long” about the slap and has failed to make amends with Rock, Rock had yet to discuss the slap prior to the special.
