Kanye West, the American rapper also known as Ye, recently made a comeback on Instagram and stated that Jonah Hill’s acting in 21 Jump Street was instrumental in transforming his stance on anti-Semitism. West shared a movie poster on his newly reactivated profile and said that watching Hill’s performance helped him regain his appreciation for Jewish people.

He captioned the post: “No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people. No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is a Jew. Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.” Amidst the claim, users on Twitter are wondering if Jonah Hill is actually Jewish.

Is Jonah Hill Jewish?

Jonah Hill has proudly spoken about his Jewish heritage and upbringing, and his connection to the Jewish community. Hill’s openness about his faith and cultural background has made him a role model for many young Jewish individuals, both in and out of Hollywood.

Born Jonah Hill Feldstein in Los Angeles in 1983, Hill was raised in a Jewish family. Hill attended Jewish summer camp and had a bar mitzvah, a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony. He has said that his family’s Jewish traditions and values have played a significant role in his life, shaping his personality and career.

In interviews, he has described his upbringing as “very, very Jewish,” and has expressed his pride in being part of the Jewish community.

“I want to inspire young Jewish people to be proud of who they are,” he said, in a 2017 interview with Rolling Stones. “I want them to know that there’s a community out there that loves and supports them. And I want them to know that they can make it in Hollywood and still be true to who they are.”

In recent years, Hill has also become involved in philanthropic work related to the Jewish community. In 2018, he co-hosted a fundraiser for the Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit organization that works to combat anti-Semitism and hate crimes.
