Richard Rogers, also called the Last Call Killer, tortured and murdered four men in Manhattan between 1992 and 1993. After killing the guys, he would dismember their bodies and dump them alongside the New Jersey Highway. Rogers had met all of the men he was interested in in Manhattan piano bars.

While Rogers was convicted in two of these murders, he was suspected in several others. A jury was unable to convict Rogers due to a lack of evidence in the other trials. Rogers was sentenced to two consecutive life terms at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton, New Jersey, after being convicted of two of the murders.

Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York, HBO Max’s next four-part docuseries, is due to broadcast on Sunday, July 9, 2023. The crimes committed by The Last Call Killer will be the focus of the series. According to HBO Max, the series will dive into Richard Rogers’ atrocities and feature multiple poignant and heartbreaking interviews with friends and family of his victims.

Richard Rogers went on trial in New Jersey in late 2005 for the murders of Thomas Mulcahy and Anthony Marrero. On November 10, he was found guilty of both killings, as well as two charges of obstructing his own arrest, and was sentenced in February to 30-years to life in prison on each murder conviction, plus an extra two-and-a-half years for each delaying apprehension charge. All four sentences must be served consecutively, totaling at least 65 years in prison.

He is now in his 70s and is being imprisoned at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton.
