R Kelly, disgraced R&B singer convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking, is engaged to model and singer Joycelyn Savage as per court documents obtained by AllHipHop. The 26-year-old wrote a letter to the judge ahead of Kelly’s sentencing, asking for lenience towards the 55-year-old sex offender.
Savage described herself as Kelly’s “fiancee” but the singer has been married twice before already, and has had several relationships – many in which the women have later come forward to allege abuse.
Aaliyah
R Kelly met Aaliyah when she was 12 and struck a romantic relationship with the future star by the time she was 15. Her debut album ‘Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number’ was written and produced by R Kelly, and the two married in August 1994. Kelly had bribed an Illinois governor to issue a fake id for Aaliyah claiming she was 18, as per New York Times.
The couple got their marriage annulled in 1995 when Aaliyah’s family found out, and Kelly and her professional relationship came to an end soon after. Aaliyah died on August 25, 2001, at the age of 23 and the R&B singer has refused to share details of his relationship with her out of respect for the deceased.
Andrea
Andrea Danyell Lee was a backup dancer for Kelly at the age of 19, after the two met in Chicago. She eventually became his choreographer and married the R&B singer in 1996, when Andrea was 22.

The couple were married for a decade and have three children together, daughters Joann, Jay, and son Robert Jr. However, when she asked for a divorce, Kelly hit her, forcing Andrea to file for a restraining order in September 2005. She filed for divorce in 2006 and it was finalized in 2009.
K Michelle
Kelly shared a similar mentor-singer relationship with K Michelle as he had with Aaliyah. However, when the two began a romantic journey, the singer felt trapped.
In a 2018 episode of Uncensored, Michelle detailed “I remember feeling trapped. If I leave this house, I’m never going to sing. I’m having to stay there. I don’t see my family. I don’t see anybody but R. Kelly.”
Jara Everett
Kelly briefly dated the singer and entertainer when she was 19. Jara Everett detailed her time with the R&B legend in her book ‘The Jump Off: The Real Truth’, detailing how Kelly introduced her to several sexual acts and the craziness of celebrity life.
Everett, after Kelly, dated Suge Knight the former CEO of Death Row Records. She recalled Kelly’s advice to her “[Robert] taught me one thing, he said, ‘Hey, if you want this music business you might have to have sex with people you might not want to if you want to get to the top.’ That’s the way it is.”

Maxine Daniels
Kelly also dated the stepdaughter of his publicist, which caused the latter to step down from her position. Maxine was 21 at the time, but her father also spoke out against Kelly’s romantic overtures, saying the R&B singer had known their stepdaughter since she was 7.
Azriel Clary
Kelly first met Azriel Clary when she was 16 and the documentary ‘Surviving R Kelly’ shone a light on the aspiring singer. Though Clary had been cut off from her family for some time, by the R&B singer, she’s distanced herself from him since then and spoken out about the abuse she suffered in his hands.
