Liger is an upcoming Indian sports action movie starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday. It marks the film debut of Vijay Deverakonda in Hindi cinema and Ananya Panday in Telugu cinema. Here is everything you need to know about the movie. The movie is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. 

Liger Release Date

The movie is scheduled to make its theatrical release on August 25, 2022, in Hindi and Telugu alongside dubbed versions in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Liger’s Hindi version will only have night shows on August 25 (Thursday), 2022, and regular shows from August 26, 2022. 

In January 2021, the film’s release date was announced to be September 9, 2021. The production of the film was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The digital rights for the streaming of the movie have been acquired by Disney+ Hotstar.

Liger Cast

Actor Vijay Deverakonda stars as the titular MMA fighter boxer alongside Ananya Panday, Ramya Krishna and Ronit Roy. American boxer Mike Tyson plays an extended cameo in the movie. The movie also stars Ali , Markarand Deshpande, Getup Srinu and Abdul Quadir Amin.

Liger runtime

Liger’s runtime stands at 2 hours 10 minutes. The first half is 1 hour 15 minutes while the second half is 1 hour 5 minutes. As per the reports by IANS, there are seven fights and six songs in the movie.

The official trailer of the movie was released on July 21, 2022, which portrayed a boy born and raised in the streets of Mumbai becoming a world champion in kickboxing. Vijay mentioned to IANS, “My character in the film has a stammering problem and that made it more interesting”. He added, “On one hand, he is the guy who is physically so strong and intimidating to others, he is a fighter, but he can’t even utter the simple three words I love you to the girl he loves”.
