Meghan Markle is reportedly gearing up for a significant Instagram comeback after a three-year social media detox. The former duchess, who previously shared an Instagram account with her husband Prince Harry, @sussexroyal, boasting 9.4 million followers before its deactivation in 2020 following their departure from senior Royal duties, is believed to be the mastermind behind a new account under the username @meghan.
The account features a charming display of pink peonies, which are said to be Meghan’s favorite flowers. A source close to her team recently confirmed, “Yes, that’s her. Expect an official announcement very soon. She’s making her return.”
As per Daily Mail, the account @meghan has already garnered a following, including several of Meghan’s friends. Among them is activist Mandana Dayani, who held the position of president at Archewell, the media and philanthropic organization founded by the Sussexes, until December of the previous year. Her ‘new’ account has already amassed over 78,000 followers, and experts anticipate that it could significantly bolster her financial standing.
A source familiar with the matter shared with The Mail on Sunday, “The buzz in Hollywood is that the relaunch is just around the corner. Meghan has consistently expressed her desire to make a return to Instagram.”
Before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan, known for her role in “Suits,” had a personal Instagram following exceeding three million. She also attracted tens of thousands of fans to her now-discontinued lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Meghan initially revealed her intentions to rejoin Instagram in an interview with The Cut last year, sharing with writer Allison P. Davis, “Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back on Instagram.”
Many social media marketing experts are of the opinion that Meghan has the potential to rapidly ascend to one of the highest-paid influencers globally with her new account.
