The Mumbai Police on Wednesday summoned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, asking him to appear before them on October 1 in a case related to actor Payal Ghosh’s allegation of sexual harassment against him, news agency ANI reported.

“Mumbai Police summons film director Anurag Kashyap asking him to appear at Versova Police station tomorrow at 11 am, in connection with the alleged sexual assault against actor Payal Ghosh,” ANI’s tweet read.

Mumbai Police on September 23 had registered an FIR against the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’  director after Ghosh accused him of sexual assault in 2013, PTI reported.

Kashyap had dismissed the charges as ‘baseless’. His lawyer in a tweet said, “My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations, these are completely false, malicious and dishonest.”
