Nas’ Calabasas home was burglarized over the weekend while he was in New York City, according to TMZ.

Two men allegedly broke into the rapper’s home through a back door around 8:30 p.m. PT on Saturday. Nas’ team members witnessed the burglars leaving with two bags full of items on a Ring camera and alerted authorities. However, no one was present when officers arrived.

According to sources, the intruders ransacked his home. The value of the stolen items is unknown.

According to TMZ, once Nas returns to his Calabasas home, he will be able to take inventory of what was stolen, and authorities will be able to begin the process of recovering what was stolen.

Nas was in New York City for a listening party for the third instalment of the King’s Disease series, which is once again co-executive produced by Hit-Boy.

Nas’ team became aware of what was going on thanks to a Ring camera installed on the property. As they were leaving, the Hood2Hood artist’s crew noticed them and immediately called the cops.

When cops arrived at the prolific lyricist’s house, the robbers had already fled. 

It is currently unknown what the thieves took or how much it was worth. All that has been confirmed is that the 49-year-home old’s was destroyed and approximately two bags of his belongings were stolen.The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has made no arrests at this time.

Nas is a 49-year-old MC from Queens, New York, and the son of jazz cornetist/guitarist Olu Dara. His first two full-length albums, illmatic and It Was Written, are widely regarded as two of hip hop’s best. The third instalment of Nas and Hit-annual Boy’s trilogy, King’s Disease III, is the duo’s best work yet.

While this has undoubtedly dampened his otherwise exciting weekend, the Illmatic artist still has much to be thankful for. Several songs from King’s Disease III have made headlines, whether for their praise of Kendrick Lamar or their criticism of Pete Rock.
