Sandalwood star Kichcha Sudeep and Madonna Sebastian’s film Kotigobba 3, which was supposed to hit the theatres on Thursday, was stalled by a day, resulting in the fans getting furious and vandalising theatres across Karnataka. 

A video doing the rounds showed fans engaging in stone-pelting and breaking the front gate of Dreamland Theatre in Vijayapura as they could not purchase tickets of the movie.

Following this, Sudeep issued a statement, apologising to his fans for the delay. 

“It’s my duty to inform all those at the theatres already, that there is a delay in shows due to certain issues. I personally apologise for this negligence from the concerned. I request all not to react badly at the theatres as they have nothing to do with this,” the actor said in a statement. 

The movie’s producer Surappa Babu also apologised to the moviegoers. With folded hands, Babu, in a video, informed Kichcha Sudeep and his fans about the delay.

Though technical glitch was said to be the reason behind the delay, some reports said that the distributers weren’t paid by the producer because of which the show was halted. 

Following the delay, many of the actor’s fans showed their support and urged others to stay patient. 

“We have been waiting since years to witness Kotigobba 2 on big screen, and we can wait for some more time.We are ready to celebrate movie whenever it’s released… We urge all our friends to be patient and maintain discipline thats what we Sudeepians are,” one person wrote.

Kotigobba 3, which is a third movie of the famous Kotigobba franchise, is made on a budget of more than Rs 25 crore. The first movie was starred legendary actor Vishnuvardhan. Sudeep played the lead in Kotigobba 2. Madonna Sebastian makes her Sandalwood debut with Kotigobba 3. Shraddha Das, Aftab Shivdasani, and P. Ravi Shankar will be seen in prominent roles in the movie.
