Over his vast career, Salman Khan has given us a lot to remember him by. It is safe to say, that his songs top the list. Most of Salman Khan’s songs are what make parties, weddings, and functions come alive. In the last three decades, he has given people songs that never fail to make them groove. On his 55th birthday, we look back at some of his best songs that have been played and loved over and over again- for, like him, his songs too have aged well.

Tere Naam

Just like Salman Khan’s look from the movie, this song too is ingrained in our minds. Sang by the Bollywood classic pair- Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, this song and its melody continue to ring in our hearts. This movie, which saw Salman Khan at this best and tugged at the hearts of the viewers through its emotional storyline, also has many other wonderful songs. The music director of this song is Himesh Reshammiya.

Oh oh Jane Jana

From the movie ‘Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’ starring Salman Khan and Kajol, this song is as timeless as the actor has been in the industry. In the movie, Salman Khan is seen singing this song in a concert flaunting his bare upper body. Both this song and the movie were a huge hit when it was released. Sang by Kamal Khan, this song can get anyone grooving it to as soon as it starts playing – even today.

Tu Jo Mila

This song from the heart-touching movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’ that had moved everyone, also gave the people some beautiful songs. The journey of this Pakistani child and an Indian man, their beautiful camaraderie, and inter-faith bond is well reflected through this song. KK has sung this song, and Pritam is its music director. Kausar Munir has written the beautiful verses of this song.

Swag Se Swagat

Salman Khan has the reputation of delivering some of the massive hits that Bollywood has seen. Each of his movies’ gross income would break every other record. Often, the songs would also be breaking records of their own. One such song is Swag Se Swagat. When it had released, this song had become an anthem for his fans. Sang by Vishal Dadlani and Neha Bhasin, this song is from the movie Ek The Tiger. It had dominated the playlist of every party, function, or event following a few years since it had been released. The music by Vishal and Shekhar is also very catchy and a great dance number.

Surili Akhiyo Wale

Although the movie, Veer, is one of the few movies of Salman Khan that did not do very well with the audience, this song outdid most of the other romantic songs that this actor has ever featured in. The song talks about meeting a loved one beyond the constraints of time. This bi-lingual song that is sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Suzzane D’Mello is one of the most romantic songs of Bollywood. Besides Salman Khan, this song also stars Zarine Khan.

Salman Khan has worked for more than 30 years in the Bollywood industry. Some people love him, some don’t, but it is difficult to ignore someone like him who has given the industry so many hit movies and many more songs that people still sing and groove to.
