Sameer Wankhede
will continue to lead investigation into the Aryan Khan case, the Narcotics
Control Bureau (NCB) said on Wednesday after the zonal officer of the anti-drugs
agency was questioned on bribery allegations earlier in the day. Allegations
against Wankhede surfaced this week after a man named as a witness in the Aryan
Khan case accused the official of being involved in bribery.

Wankhede has also
been accused of an array of serious charges from extortion to bribery by
Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik, who has also accused the officer of cornering
Scheduled Castes quote through forged documents, according to an NDTV report.

Gyaneshwar Singh,
a senior NCB official who landed in Mumbai with a four-member team to probe the
charges against Sameer Wankhede, said that Wankhede has submitted all documents
pertaining to the case and will be questioned further if necessary.

“Taking ahead the
investigation we recorded statement of Sameer Wankheded for
four-and-a-half-hours during which he has shared many things before the team.
We will collect some more documents from him in the coming time, and if
required we will get more information from him,” PTI quoted Gyaneshwar Singh as
saying.

The investigation
into Sameer Wankhede’s operations began after the vigilance wing of the NCB
called upon the agency to probe allegations made by Prabhakar Sail, a bodyguard
to KP Gosavi — the private investigator whose photograph with Aryan Khan went
viral on social media following the 23-year-old’s arrest.

According to
Prabhakar Said, Gosavi had demanded money from Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja
Dadlani, a portion of which was meant for Wankhede.

Meanwhile, Shah
Rukh Khan’s son Aryan will spend Wednesday night in jail as his bail hearing
will continue on Thursday. Khan appealed for bail before the Bombay High Court
after a special NDPS court denied his application. Senior lawyer and former
Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi is representing Aryan Khan.
