Selena Gomez’s newly released ‘Single Soon’ has been removed from Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms, leaving fans very confused.

Many Spotify users took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain about the fact that they could not access the song and were left frustrated. Although Spotify did not give any specific reason for making the song “unavailable,” a number of social media users claimed that the song had been removed due to “security reasons.” As to what exactly those security reasons were is not known.

Here are a few reactions from fans who were unable to access the song on Spotify:

One X user wrote: “‘Single Soon’ by Selena Gomez being removed from streaming platforms is surprising news. It’s not uncommon for artists to periodically remove or re-release their music, so fans might want to stay tuned for updates on Selena’s music catalog.”

A week prior to the Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat-produced song, Gomez shared the track’s glamorous cover art, writing on Instagram: “Y’all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.”

Gomez hasn’t released a full-length album since 2020’s Rare. She did drop her all-Spanish EP Revalación the following year.

During a recent conversation with Pop Crush, Gomez talked about the song and stated that it can “be interpreted in so many different ways.” She also revealed that the song was written six years ago when she wasn’t single.  “It sounds amazing and I’m so proud of it,” the Only Murders in the Building actress said.

“I didn’t release it back then because I wasn’t in that place. Genuinely I feel so happy, and I haven’t been in a relationship in five years and I’m happy as can be, and feel like I’m finally in a place where like whatever comes my way it’ll just add to my life, it won’t take anything away,” she explained further.
