Following the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raid at a cruise ship off
the coast of Mumbai on Saturday night, media reports indicated that a Bollywood
actor’s son was among those detained by the anti-drugs agency. On Sunday
morning, a senior official said that this was indeed true and revealed that the
actor’s son in question was Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh
Khan, according to a report in Times of India. However, no official
confirmation has been made regarding the identity of those detained from the cruise
ship.

The senior NCB official said than an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, a source close to the NCB told ETimes that Aryan Khan was taken in
for questioning but there was probably no involvement in possession of drugs.
However, social media has gone abuzz with pictures and videos claiming them to
be of Aryan Khan. Such pictures and videos have not been independently verified
by Opoyi.

On Saturday, the NCB raided a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai and
detained at least 10 people. Sameer Wankhede, NCB zonal director, said that the
bureau had intercepted some people and drugs recovered from the cruise ship.
Wankhede refused to comment on the presence of any celebrity among the
detainees.

The raid took place on Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship which was
inaugurated two weeks ago. NCB officials had received a tip-off and entered the
ship under cover. Once the ship left the coast of Mumbai, a rave party started,
according to an India Today report. NCB officials swung into action and
detained a number of people who were allegedly found consuming illegal drugs
openly.

Media reports indicate that those detained may be booked under relevant
sections of the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
