Taylor Swift surprised fans with the announcement of her
upcoming tour, dubbed the Eras Tour on Tuesday, November 1. The announcement
included dates for the US stadium shows which will begin in March 2023 and
continue till August, with international dates set to be revealed later.
The long-speculated tour will mark Swift’s return to the road
after five years, following the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018, which went on
to become the third highest-grossing female concert tour of all time.

The tour, described by Swift as “a journey through the musical eras of her past and present career”,
will be opened by artists
Paramore, Haim, Phoebe Bridgers,
Beabadoobee, Girl in Red, Muna, Gayle, Gracie Abrams, and Owenn.
Announcing the tour, Swift wrote, “I’m
enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey
through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the
tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be
announced as soon as we can!”

Talking about her supporting artists, Swift
continued, “Feeling like the luckiest person alive because I get to take these
brilliant artists out on tour with me: @paramore, @radvxz, @phoebebridgers, @girlinred, @whereismuna, @haimtheband, @gracieabrams, @gayle and @owennmusic. I can’t WAIT
to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming.”
As per Swift, it is not only her latest album
Midnights that inspires the tour but her entire musical journey. The graphic
posted by Swift along with the tour dates shows a collage of her from her music
eras over the years marked in different colours.
The
public on-sale of the Eras Tour tickets will begin on Friday, November 18, at 10
am at the local venue time. There will also be an earlier sale of tickets for Capital
One Card holders, beginning on November 15 at 2 pm till November 17, at 10 pm.

Taylor Swift released her tenth studio album, Midnights,
on October 21 to critical acclaim and commercial success. The album, described
by Swift as “a conceptual album inspired by 13 sleepless nights,” topped the
charts in 22 countries, and became the best and the fastest-selling album of
2022, as well as achieved the all-time Spotify record for the most streamed
album in a single day.
