Singer Taylor Swift extends heartfelt appreciation to fans for their unwavering support of her re-records during The Eras Concert in Denver.

The “Love Story” singer stated during the concert, “What you’ve done in the last week for Speak Now is truly overwhelming for me.” As more than 575,000 equivalent album units of her single “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” were sold in the United States in its first four days of availability (from July 7 to July 10). This astounding total includes 225,000 vinyl copies and over 400,000 record sales.

Taylor Swift is currently re-recording her previous albums after reportedly selling her back catalog for $300 million. Scooter Braun, her former manager, purchased the rights to her first six albums in 2020. Swift has started the process of re-recording her most cherished songs in an effort to regain control over her music.

She has had trouble reclaiming control of her earlier records in spite of her best efforts. The singer was bound by a provision that waived her masters’ rights when she signed a record deal at the tender age of 14, so she never actually owned those tunes.

Following her challenges with ownership rights, Taylor Swift signed a deal with Republic Records in 2018 that granted her the rights to her new music. Since then, she has released three more albums, displaying her artistic flexibility and command. In order to restore ownership, Swift has also started the re-recording process and released updated versions of her prior albums.

The singer aims to release three additional re-records in addition to the three she has already released as she continues her project of re-recording her earlier albums. By releasing her re-recorded albums in a random order, Swift has been keeping her devoted fan base on their toes and adding a sense of surprise and anticipation.
