Netflix recently revealed the trailer teaser of %u2018The Witcher%u2019 which is slated to hit the streamer on December 17, 2021. Anna Schaffer is playing the role of Triss Merigold in season 2.

Triss Merigold of Maribor was a legendary Temerian sorceress of the 13th century. She was wrongly thought to have been killed during the Battle of Sodden Hill, she passed into history as Merigold the Fearless. She is popularly called Fourteenth of the Hill by her contemporaries.

Tress was a founding member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. Apart from being involved in politics for most of her life, she is also a member of King Foltest’s royal council along with Fercart and Keira Metz. Merigold was also friends with Yennefer and the witcher Geralt of Rivia, but also unhappily in love with the latter.

Tress was the reason Ciri was not subjected to harmful hormone changes. Also, she is like an older sister to Ciri and took care of her at Kaer Morhen. Despite being a skilled healer, Tress was allergic to potions. But she did carry many magical potions with her but never used them on herself. Tress used amulets to treat herself.

She was also quite a powerful mage, certainly when it counted most. She wore an amulet – sapphire overlaid with silver. She is one of the first people Geralt of Rivia meets after being found unconscious in the woods by his fellow witchers. 

Tress was the one who nursed Geralt back to health after his first battle with Azar Javed in the Swamp. Season 2 of the fantasy-drama series will introduce Kim Bodnia%u2019s Vesemir, Yasen Atour%u2019s Co�n, Paul Bullion%u2019s Lambert, and Basil Eidenbenz%u2019s Eskel.
