While American singer John Legend was all set to perform at US President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, his supermodel wife Chrissy Teigen faced backlash on social media prior to the event for her decision to visit Washington amid tightened security and coronavirus pandemic.

Notably, the whole family- John, Chrissy and their two kids (Luna and Miles)- went to attend Biden’s inauguration.

“My baby got his first fat lip pushing his car down the driveway…still happy packing for inauguration though!” Teigan captioned her post on Twitter on Tuesday.

Notably, despite the star-powered presidential transition, not everyone was stoked on the celebrity caravan into DC — with the city still reeling from the riot at the US Capitol on January 6.

Many of her followers found her excitement quite offensive.

Although, Chrissy was quick to reply to the user. “This is not my fault but I’m sorry you’re frustrated. I just like to share what we are up to and what not,” she said.

Singer John Legend performed at the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, where he sang a rendition of “Feeling Good”, a song that was brought into the limelight by Nina Simone in the mid-60s.

Many artists including Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Bruce Springsteen also performed at the event.
