Urvashi Rautela and Rishabh Pant have been making headlines since August 11, when reports emerged with the former revealing a person, named ‘RP’, waited for her at a hotel lobby for hours. As footage of the interview emerged on social media platforms, fans soon connected Indian cricket team wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant, with the person identified as ‘RP’ by Rautela in the interview. Soon after, Pant took a jibe at Rautela on a social media platform with a story, however, deleted later.

This is not the first altercation between the two, as in 2018 media reports suggested that the two were dating. However, Pant blocked her from his social media handles and posted photos of him with his girlfriend. Urvashi Rautela and Rishabh Pant were also seen together once in Mumbai in the past.

The current controversy began with an interview of Urvashi Rautela with Bollywood Hungama a few days ago, where she revealed an incident of a person waiting for her in the hotel lobby throughout the night in New Delhi. She identified this person as ‘RP’, which is also the abbreviation of Rishabh Pant’s name.

“I was shooting in New Delhi and I arrived at night. Quickly I had to get ready because actresses need more time to get ready. So, Mr RP came to the hotel lobby and wanted to meet,” Rautela said.

She also recollected that she fell asleep as 10 hours passed. Rautela could not attend calls and when she woke up, she saw multiple missed calls on her phone.

“Ten hours passed and I fell asleep. I couldn’t attend any calls and when I woke up I saw 16-17 missed calls and I felt so bad that someone was waiting for me and I couldn’t meet them. I told him we’ll meet when you come to Mumbai. We met in Mumbai but a huge drama happened with the paps and all,” she said.

However, Rautela did not divulge more information regarding the identity of Rishabh Pant, saying she will not be naming the person.

On August 11, Rishabh Pant posted an Instagram story, saying people often lie in interviews for popularity without naming Urvashi Rautela. However, he deleted the story after a few minutes.

“It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them,” read the story.

Pant also added a few hashtags like #MeraPichaChhoroBehen and #JhuthKiBhiLimitHotiHai.

As a response, Urvashi also posted a note on Instagram on August 12, however, she also did not name Pant in the post. “Chotu Bhaiyaa should play bat ball. Main koyi Munni nahi hoon badnaam hone with young kiddo darlings tere liye liye @Rakshabandhan Mubarak ho #RPChtobhaiyaa #Cougarhunter #Donttakeadvantageofsilentgirl.”

The controversy is not looking to die down soon, as fans of both the cricketer and the actor have been at it on several social media platforms.
