After seven years, director Sooraj Barjatya is returning to entertain movie buffs with his latest movie Uunchai. On November 11, 2022, the movie starring Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, Sarika, Parineeti Chopra, Nafisa Ali, and Danny Denzongpa would be released. On Tuesday, the movie’s first trailer, which glorifies friendship, was made public.

The trailer introduces the viewer to four companions, played by Bachchan, Kher, Denzongpa, and Irani. Bhupen, played by Denzongpa, has only one ambition in life: to climb Mount Everest. But he dies before he can realize his dream.

His grieved companions decide to carry out his last desire and scatter his ashes on Everest, no matter how many storms they have to face. Despite their advanced age and physical concerns, the trio sets out for Everest base camp. The film’s tagline is, “Friendship was their motivation.”

The three female leads, Parineeti, Neena, and Sarika, are also briefly seen in the trailer, albeit they don’t appear to play major roles in this story of four friends.

From the trailer, Uunchai appears to be a beautiful and simple tale of pure friendship, a theme that Bollywood has not explored for quite some time now.

The makers intrigued the public with character posters of senior Bachchan, Kher, Gupta, Sarika, and Chopra before releasing the trailer. Also, during the film’s production, the filmmakers shared photos and videos from the set, hinting at how much fun the cast had on set.

Parineeti had previously stated that she is happy and honored to be a part of Sooraj Barjatya’s legendary cinematic universe. “Sooraj sir has defined, and is the torchbearer of India’s family entertainers and I can’t wait to work under his tutelage; alongside this stellar and incredible cast”, she added.
