One of the most popular actresses on social media, Urvashi Rautela, frequently makes the news for a variety of reasons. She recently claimed on Instagram that she had experienced internet bullying and online harassment.

On Monday, Urvashi posted photos and stated that she has decided to cut her hair in solidarity with Iranian women and girls who have been killed in protests following the death of Mahsa Amini. She can be seen getting her hair cut in the photos.

She wrote, after sharing the photos, “CHOPPED MY HAIR OFF! cutting my hair in support of Iranian women and girls who have been killed in protests at the death of Mahsa Amini after her arrest by Iranian morality police & for all the girls. And for 19-year-old girl Ankita Bhandari from Uttarakhand.”

Some social media users were sceptical of the actress’s decision to shave her head, others wanted to know what she had done for India’s women, who suffered as a result of the society. “Like fully or partially?” someone commented on Urvashi’s post. “India ki women ke liye hi kuch kar lo pehle,” wrote another.

Many others teased the actor by writing the name of cricketer Rishabh Pant in the comments section.

Mahsa Amini, 22, died in police custody last month, sparking large-scale anti-government demonstrations in Iran and elsewhere in the world.

Celebrities like Priyanka Chopra have also expressed support for Iranian women by posting messages on social media.

Amini was detained by the morality police after she refused to cover her head, and according to sources, she passed away while still in detention. Iranian ladies have been taking off their headscarves and trimming their hair since then. In one of her earlier Instagram postings, Urvashi compared herself to the late Mahsa Amini.

Urvashi is currently in Australia, and since she announced her visit, netizens have been trolling the former Miss Universe for “stalking Rishabh Pant.”
