Telugu veteran actor Nagaiah
passed away at the age of 77 on Saturday. He was popularly known as ‘Vedam’ Nagaiah
for the character Ramaulu, which he played in Krish Jagarlamudi’s ‘Vedam’.

The actor had been suffering from health-related issues from past few months and succumbed on Saturday. The exact cause of death was not known. 

Vedam Nagaiah
was from Desavaram Peta in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh and was given an
opportunity by Krish Jagarlamudi to act with stars like Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and
Anushka Shetty in Vedam. After the film, his career in the industry shot up and he went on to
feature in more than 30 films which included Nagavalli, Seema Tapakai,
Okkadine, Ayyare, Gamanam and Balupu.

In an
interview earlier, he spoke about how he got the opportuninty to work in Vedam.
He said that Krish Jagarlamdui spotted him in Hyderabad and called him to his
office for an interview. At the interview, Krish gave him a dialogue written in
a piece of paper and asked him to read what was written on the paper. As soon
as he finished, Krish hired him for a role in Vedam. After shooting for over 6
months, many filmmakers approached him for roles in their movies. Several
artists offered their condolences to Nagaiah’s family.
