Vincent Kennedy McMahon, born August 24, 1945, is a former American professional wrestler promoter, executive, and media owner. He was the chairman and CEO of WWE, the world’s largest professional wrestling company, until 2022. He also founded and owns Alpha Entertainment.
McMahon was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and earned a business degree from East Carolina University in 1968. For most of the 1970s, he worked as a commentator for his father, Vincent J. McMahon’s, then-WWWF, before purchasing it in 1982 and nearly monopolising the industry, which had previously operated as independent fiefdoms across the United States.

This resulted in the annual WrestleMania, which went on to become one of the most successful pro wrestling events. In the 1990s, WWE faced industry competition from World Championship Wrestling (WCW), which it purchased in 2001. In 2003, WWE also acquired the properties of the defunct Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
McMahon married Linda Edwards in New Bern, North Carolina, on August 26, 1966. Linda and Vince met in church when Linda was 13 and Vince was 16. McMahon was known as Vince Lupton at the time, after his stepfather. Vicky H. Askew (née Hanner), Vince’s mother, introduced them.

Shane and Stephanie, their two children, have both worked in the WWF/E, both onscreen and behind the scenes. Shane left the organisation on January 1, 2010 (returning in 2016), while Stephanie remains engaged both behind the scenes and onscreen. According to recent reports, the pair is no longer together.
Roderick James McMahon III, McMahon’s older brother, was not in the wrestling business.

McMahon has six grandchildren: Shane and Marissa’s sons Declan James, Kenyon Jesse, and Rogan Henry McMahon, and Stephanie and her husband Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s daughters Aurora Rose, Murphy Claire, and Vaughn Evelyn Levesque.
