Korean girl band Blackpink, composed of Rosé, Lisa, Jennie and Jisoo not only made their VMAs red carpet debut on Sunday, but they also performed on Pink Venom, a pre-released single from their upcoming album Born Pink.
All the Blackpink members were dressed in black, with thigh high boots to compliment their looks. They performed the track’s intricate choreography along with a dozen of backup dancers.
With the help of smoke effects and full-stage visualizers that included a pair of giant pink fangs, the Blackpink members gave a power packed performance for the very first time on VMA 2022.
This is the Korean pop band’s first performance at the MTV Video Music Awards and also the first live performance of Pink Venom after its release on August 19, 2022.
Taylor Swift and Dylan O’ Brien were also seen dancing and enjoying during the live performance of Blackpink in the VMA 2022.

Apart from the performance, Blackpink also made a grand red carpet appearance with a theme of all-black looks. Lisa wore a strapless neckline Celine gown, Jisoo was in a Dior floral-print gown, Jennie dressed herself in a Chanel halter crop top and maxi skirt, and Rose was in a Saint Laurent minidress.
Black Pink has received eight VMA nominations and they are also the first female Korean band to perform in the VMA’s history.

Lisa, one of the Blackpink members has also received the Best K-Pop Video nomination for Lalisa this year. This makes her the first female solo K-pop artist to be nominated for a VMA.
Apart from Blackpink, other performers at this year’s VMAs include Anitta, Bad Bunny, Eminem, J Balvin, Jack Harlow, Kane Brown, Khalid, Lizzo, Maneskin, Marshmello, Nicki Minaj, Panic! at the Disco, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg.
