American filmmaker James Gunn is going to release the third volume of marvel studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy on May 5, 2023.

The filmmaker in an interview confessed that the third film of any series usually does not do up to the mark and mostly results in box-office failures.

In an interview, the Guardians of the Galaxy director said, “The amount of good third episodes in a trilogy, I can count them on one hand.”

According to himthe Before Sunrise seriesLord of the Rings, and Spiderman are the very few trilogies that were successful and well-made.

So, when the third part of Guardians of the Galaxy was announced, he knew that it had to be a big one. After the second part of the series was released, Gunn felt that there was still a lot in the story to be conveyed. He thought that the story was still unfinished.

The third part will witness Rocket, the Raccoon’s story who is the Guardian of the Galaxy’s founding member in the series.

“I would’ve been very sad not to complete the trilogy for many reasons, but I just feel very connected to Rocket. I feel like nobody would be able to tell his full story if it wasn’t me,” explained the director.

Gunn, while addressing the third chapter stated, “This is where things really happen. This is where we get to know the truth about who these characters are, and we face the biggest stakes.”

The filming of the third volume has been completed. Gunn has put in all the efforts to break the curse of the trilogy being a disaster and has worked very hard. Gunn said that the shoot was quite lengthy and probably was the hardest thing he has ever done.

The soundtrack of the upcoming film is said to be greater than that of the first two volumes. While Marvel fans are eagerly waiting for the threequel to release, Gunn believes, “I did everything that I possibly could to make this trilogy as good as it can possibly be.”
