The Primetime Emmy Awards return with their 73rd
edition today. The ceremony will be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer for a
limited audience at L.A. Live’s Event Deck. We take a look at the most popular

Bridgerton

The show is based on Julia Quinn’s best selling eight novel
series of the same name. Set in 18th century London, the drama
revolves around an aristocratic family. Netflix announced a viewership of more
than 80 million for its hit original. It follows a scandalous storyline which
showcases Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset creating a romantic scheme to
please their marriage-minded family.

The Crown

Netflix’s historical drama focuses on the reign of Queen Elizabeth
II. It begins in 1947, the period of Elizabeth’s marriage with Philip. Each
season new characters are incorporated in order to make up for the ageing
process and time periods. The show’s latest season revolves around shows Prince
Charles’s marriage to Lady Diana Spencer.

This is Us

The critically acclaimed show follows the life of a family
which consists of two parents and their three children. It is spread across several
time zones and a generational story unfolds across the episodes. It beautifully
demonstrated the beautiful ties of a family and the complexities of life as the
children try to make a name for themselves in the current world. It can be viewed
on Amazon Prime Video.

Ted Lasso

The heart-warming comedy follows American football coach Ted
Lasso’s transition to the United Kingdom. There he is given the responsibility
of leading an English Premier League team, despite not knowing a single thing
about the game. He must lead a dressing room filled with star players, manage
their egos and take them to glory. It is exclusively available on Apple TV+.

The Queen’s Gambit

Beth Harmon is forced to move into an orphanage when she is eight
years old due to her mother’s demise in a car crash. She learns to play chess from
the Janitor Mr Shaibel who recognises her talent early on. Beth is adopted by the
Wheatleys when she is 13. She starts participating in chess tournaments where
she competes with the most talented chess players. She manages to dominated a
game played by men and becomes an inspiration for many. Interested viewers can
