Harry Belafonte, the singer, actor, and activist who was a key figure in the civil rights movement, died at the age of 96.

Belafonte, dubbed  “King of Calypso”, died of congestive heart failure on Tuesday.

His spouse Pamela, children Adrienne Belafonte Biesemeyer, Shari Belafonte, Gina Belafonte, and David Belafonte, as well as two stepchildren Sarah Frank and Lindsey Frank, survive him.

Who are Harry Belafonte’s children Adrienne, Shari, David and Gina Belafonte?

Belafonte had three marriages: the first with actress Marguerite Byrd, the second with costume designer Julie Robinson, and Belafonte was married to photographer Pamela Frank at the time of death.

Julie Robinson, Belafonte’s second wife, was his longest-lasting relationship. The couple married in 1957 and were married for 47 years before divorcing in 2004. Julie was also a performer, and she was a dancer when she met the legendary singer.

Julie and Harry had two children from their marriage: David, 65, and Gina, 61. Gina has followed in her parents’ footsteps and become an actress, appearing in a variety of productions, most notably 2018’s Blackkklansmen, according to IMDb.

David dabbled in acting and modeling throughout the 1990s, with a few minor parts. According to his LinkedIn, he is currently the president of the Belafonte Family Foundation.

Adrienne and Shari Belafonte

Before he was a well-known musician, Harry was to Marguerite Byrd, his first wife, whom he married in 1949. Marguerite, despite the fact that not much is known about her, did play a little part in the 1959 film Night of the Quarter Moon. In 1957, she and Harry divorced.

The couple’s two daughters, Shari, 68, and Adrienne, were born  born in the late 1940s and 1954. Adrienne appeared in her father’s 2011 documentary Sing Your Song, according to IMDb. She also founded the Anir Foundation, which promotes “cultural understanding” through volunteer opportunities. Shari has appeared as a leading lady in TV shows such as Hotel and films such as The Player.
