Beyonce finally broke the record of winning most Grammy awards this weekend. The title was previously held by the Hungarian-British conductor, Georg Solti. Solti’s daughter, Claudia Solti has come to the limelight with her comments on Beyonce’s big win.

Georg died in 1997 and in 1998, he won his posthumous record-setting 31st Grammy. After Beyonce has taken over Georg’s historic record, Claudia said that Georg would have absolutely celebrated her achievement.

Who is Claudia Solti?

Claudia Solti is an opera and film director. She is the daughter of great musician and conductor, Georg Solti. She is known for her work in the movies Immortal Beloved(1994), That’s for Me!(2009) and Shotgun Wedding(2001).

Claudia graduated from Oxford University with an MA in English Literature. She showed her creative skills early in college itself when she became a stage director. She directed her first play, The Love of the Nightingale while she was also training to be an actress at LAMDA. The play was critically acclaimed at the Edinburgh Festival. This led to Solti’s further advancement in the world of stage drama. She eventually directed The Ma Woman in the Attic at the Riverside Studios and The Duchess of Mali and Uncle Vanya.

In 2001, she started directing movies. Her first short film Shotgun Wedding received fame and recognition at the Regus London Short Film Festival. Subsequently, Claudia directed more short and feature films which went on to be premiered in international film festivals.

Claudia debuted in the world of opera with A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Mariinsky in 2011 with Valery Gergiev. The production was nominated for several Golden Mask Awards. She won the awards for best production in the same ceremony.
