Nigerian Musician, Davido took to social media pleading
with his supporters for support.

Davido, son of a billionaire father, who is believed to
be a billionaire himself, shared his bank account details on his social media
pages begging for funds from his fans.

He wrote on his Twitter handle that he needs N100 million
to clear his car from the port. Shortly after the tweet, the musician revealed
that he had received N26 million and he never knew he was loved so much.

Who is Davido?

David Adedeji Adeleke better known as Davido, is an
American-born Nigerian singer, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was
born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, US, and raised in Lagos. David started
his music career with the KB International music group.

Education

He went to Oakwood University to study business
administration before dropping out to pursue full-time career in music. He went
to London to work on his vocals. David returned to Nigeria in 2011 where at his
father’s request he paused his music career and enrolled at Babcock University.
He graduated from Babcock with a degree in music after his father paid the
university to start a music department for an inaugural class of one student in
2015.

Musical Career

In October 2011, Davido released a single ‘Dami Duro,’
which was co-produced with Shizzi.

David rose to fame with Dami Duro as the song became a
hit in Nigeria and it was aired in almost every media outlet.

He released his first album Omo Baba Olowo (Child of a
Wealthy Person) in 2012 under HKN Music Record Label. Davido won the Next Rated
award at The Headies in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he released multiple hit
singles.

In January 2016 he signed a record contract with Sony
Music. After this, he launched his own record label Davido Music Worldwide
(DMW), which has many top artists on their payroll, including Teli, Peruzzi,
Mayorkun, Dremo, and others.

In July 2016, Davido signed a contract with Sony’s RCA
Records. He released the 5-track album EP Son of Mercy in October 2016.

In April 2017, Davido released five singles including
“If” and “Fall”. “If” gained a lot of social
media attention while “Fall” became the longest-charting Nigerian pop
song in Billboard history.

In November 2019, Davido released his second studio album
‘A Good Time,’ supported by singles including “Blow My Mind”.

Davido was named as one of the Top 100 most influential
Africans by New African magazine in 2019. In November 2020, he released his
third studio album ‘A Better Time’.

Davido is the second most followed African on Instagram.
