American rapper Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, popularly known as Gangsta Boo, died on Sunday,  FOX13 reported citing sources. 

Her death was confirmed via Instagram by DJ Paul, a member of her former band Three 6 Mafia, who also formed the spin-off band Da Mafia 6ix with her in 2012. The rapper was 43 years old.

The circumstances of her death are not yet clear. So far, we know that she was at her home in Memphis when her death took place. A statement from the rapper’s family will be out soon, DJ Paul said in the post.

According to soundhealthandlastingwealth.com sources, Gangsta Boo’s boyfriend Emmett is a Paya Del Rey native. They reportedly broke up. The two were together in season 17 of “Marriage Boot Camp”. 

The couple was not at all public about each other except for the rapper putting up pictures of them on social media. From there, all of a sudden, all of their pictures together vanished and reports claimed that the two had broken up.

Because of the private nature of their relationship, further details about Emmet are not available in the public domain.

Since the rapper’s death, tributes have poured in on social media for her. 

“As God as my witness Gangsta Boo ALWAYS been in my top 5 female spitters. I can’t believe 2023 startin like this. #RIP to a QUEEN,” fellow rapper Rah Digga tweeted. 

“The news about Gangsta Boo really hurts, “Hip Hop writer Kiena Fitzerald said in a tweet.

“She gave countless women — within the South & beyond — a blueprint to retool and rework for themselves. Her influence is incalculable and still so present today. A legend in every sense, who was committed to encouraging future innovators.”
