The man who attacked comedian Dave Chappelle on stage, Isaiah Lee, has been sentenced to 270 days in Los Angeles County jail on Thursday.
Chappelle was performing during ‘Netflix is a Joke Festival’ in Los Angeles on Tuesday night when Lee got onto the stage and tackled him. He was then taken away by security as he attempted to flee the scene and handed over to the authorities. The incident was caught on camera and several videos have gone viral on social media.

Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement to Newsweek that Lee was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon.
“A famous comedian was performing at the Hollywood Bowl. As he was exiting the stage, a man jumped onto the stage and tackled him to the ground,” said the representative. “The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and transported to a local hospital. The suspect’s last name is Lee. First name Isaiah.”
His bail has been set for $30,000.

The reason behind the attack is still not known. The comedian did not suffer injuries in the incident.
US reporter Sharon Carpenter took to social media to share her account of the incident.
“He was finishing up his performance when a man ran on-stage and lunged at him knocking him to the floor. Security and his entourage then cornered the man as Dave joked about him getting ‘stomped’ backstage,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Chris Rock got onto the stage after the incident and took a dig at Will Smith, who slapped him on stage during Oscars 2022.
‘Was that Will Smith?’ he apparently asked.
