The controversy surrounding transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney’s sponsored partnerships with Bud Light and Nike is currently grabbing the headlines, and it turns out she has a doppelganger, James Rose. In an effort to demonstrate that they are two separate people, they even appeared in an amusing video together.

Who is James Rose?

Rose recently went to a party in New York City to commemorate Mulvaney’s first year of life as a woman. When Rose was young, she used to put towels and shirts on her head to represent having long hair, and this is one of her very first recollections of feeling unhappy as a man.

The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, Never Let Me Go, and Singin’ in the Rain are just a few of the movies and stage performances Rose has performed in. She also uses her social media channels to talk about trauma, eating disorders, gender freedom, and liberation from oppression.

Rose and Mulvaney made fun of their resemblance and emphasized that they are truly two different people. Rose, a New Yorker, introduces the video with the phrase “Day 61 of being a girl,” which is the title of Mulvaney’s iconic mini-series in which she chronicles her transition.

Mulvaney responds, “Excuse me that’s kind of my thing but we can do it together,” before they both say: “Day 61 of being a girl and we are in fact two different people.”

Rose exclaims, “Some people on TikTok don’t believe we’re not the same person,” and Mulvaney adds, “We’re here to set the record straight.”

“What is it about us that people find so similar?”, the pair asks in unison. Mulvaney says, “Is it our brown hair?” and Rose continues, “Is it the same sunglasses?”

“Is it our smiles,” Mulvaney asks and Rose says, “Is it our crop top?”, and Mulvaney responds: “Is it our musical theatre degrees?” The couple then begins to sing together before they declare their love for the audience and give the camera a kiss.
