Jimmy Buffett, the legendary US singer-songwriter famous for his 1970s classic “Margaritaville,” has died at the age of 76 on September 1.

The tragic news of his death was confirmed by his family on his social media accounts and website. The statement read, “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”

As the news of his death surfaced, music fans around the world gathered interest in his personal life. The musician was married to Jane Slagsvoi after his first marriage with Margie Washichek ended in divorce in 1972. He married Jane Slagsvol in 1977.

Who is Jane Slagsvol?

Jane Slagsvol was a quiet person, but Jimmy Buffett valued her greatly. She was always there for him, even when times were hard, and they enjoyed a long and happy marriage. They got married a few months after meeting in Key West in 1977. Together, they had three kids. Although Jane preferred to avoid the spotlight, she always supported Buffett’s professional endeavors.

Jimmy Buffett was first married to Margie Washichek in 1969, but they divorced in 1971. During this time, Buffett worked as a first mate on a yacht in Key West and developed his “Caribbean Rock n’ Roll” style.

Buffett’s second marriage, to Jane Slagsvol, was much longer and happier. They had two daughters, Savannah Jane and Sarah Delaney, and they adopted a son named Cameron Marley. The couple lived in Sag Harbor, New York, and Palm Beach, Florida.
