Jimmy Buffett, the renowned singer-songwriter celebrated for his iconic songs such as “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” died at 76 on September 1.

The announcement was made on his official social media accounts, the post read, “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”

His family members have not disclosed Jimmy Buffett’s cause of death, however, the post read he died peacefully in his sleep.

Jimmy Buffett was considered one of the world’s wealthiest musicians. As per multiple media outlets, he has an estimated net worth of around a whopping $1 billion as of 2023.

Jimmy Buffett started out as a country musician in Nashville in the late 1960s. In 1970, he issued his debut record, Down to Earth. He was selected after a spur-of-the-moment audition to perform as Dianne Davidson’s opening act at the Exit/In in Nashville.
