Jim Corbett has reprised his role as iconic Sex and the City hunk Aiden Shaw for the second season of the show’s HBO max revival And Just Like That…. The announcement was made Friday night through a post from the show’s Instagram account and star Sarah Jessica Parker’s personal account, showing the two in character as Aiden and Carrie strolling along the street of Manhatten.

The show’s Instagram account posted a series of pictures of Corbett and Parker with the caption, “Shh. Don’t tell anyone.” Parker also added her comment, “Shhhh. X, SJ.”

Who is John Corbett?

John Corbett is an actor and country music singer. He received Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor, for his role as Chris Stevens in Northern Exposure (1990-95), and a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Aidan Shaw in Sex and the City (1998).

John was born on May 9, 1961, in Wheeling, West Virginia to Sandra and John Marshall Corbett. He graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School in 1979. Subsequently, he worked at a boiler-making factory in California for six years. Later, he enrolled at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California to learn hairdressing, and took acting classes in the evenings.

Corbett’s acting career started with a guest role in The Wonder Years in 1988. His breakthrough role came in 1990 when he was cast as Chris Stevens in Northern Exposure. He received Primetime Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his performance. He played the lead part in The Visitor in 1997.

In 1998, Corbett played Aiden Shaw, one of Sarah Jessica Parker’s love interests in Sex and the City. In 2002, he worked as the male lead opposite Nia Vardalos in the superhit romantic comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding and its sequel My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 in 2016.

In addition, he also starred as the husband of Toni Collette’s character in the United States of Tara in 2009 and played guitarist Josiah ‘Flash’ Bacon in Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll in 2015.

He has been in a relationship with actor Bo Derek since 2002. The couple lives on a ranch in Santa Ynez. California. Apart from acting, Corbett has also released two country music albums, John Corbett in 2006 and Leaving Nothin Behind in 2013.
