Hank Green, renowned YouTuber and the co-founder of VidCon, revealed on Friday that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.

“It seems likely that we caught mine early. I’m still waiting on a scan to sort of confirm that,” Green said in a 13-minute video on YouTube. He said he would be starting chemotherapy soon, which effectively meant that he will be taking a break from his projects.

Who is Katherine Green?

Hank married Katherine in 2006. She was born on May 17, 1980. The mother-of-one has appeared in her husband’s YouTube vlogs and, also reportedly helps him with his gaming channel. She enjoys playing Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

She also works as a script supervisor for Crash Course Chemistry, which is one of the popular projects run by her husband online. She has over 25K followers on Twitter called @realkgreen.

The couple lives in Missoula, Montana. They commemorated their fifth university on @vlogbrothers, the YouTube vlog he shares with his brother, John Green by uploading a video on September 20, 2011.

It was revealed in the clip that the pair had traveled to the San Juan Islands, Washington to celebrate the occasion. Katherine also said that the pair had “for a long time” before getting married. “I love hanging out with you, that’s like, my favorite thing to do,” She said to her husband.

The couple shares a kid together, Orin Green, 6, who was born in October 2016.

On March 19, 2021, Hank shared a series of photos of him and his wife, which were taken by Orin on his Instagram page.

He wrote in the post: “Katherine and I went to this spot a little over four years ago but we didn’t have anyone to take a picture of us. Today Orin took his first intentional picture of someone besides himself, and I think he did great. Swipe for outtakes.”
