A woman who dated Russell Brand for six months has claimed that the comedian and presenter sexually assaulted her. She then wrote a book on the incident, which she self-published. The woman has been identified as Jordan Martin.
Who is Jordan Martin?
Jordan Martin claimed that in February 2007, she began her relationship with Russell Brand. She claims that at this time, in an effort to make her feel “anonymous,” he mistreated her emotionally and made her wash her teeth so furiously that her gums bled. Martin also claims that she was the victim of sexual assault.
Seven years after their breakup, she wrote a book on the experience called “kNot: Entanglement with a Celebrity,” which she self-published. In it, she describes the specifics of their relationship. She addressed herself as “Dina” and Russell Brand as “Randall Grand” in the story while using aliases.
According to Martin, one incident at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester involved Brand’s ire after learning of her correspondence with an ex-boyfriend. In reaction, he snatched her phone by force and opened the cover to get at the battery.
Martin claimed that she experienced verbal abuse during their time spent together in Hawaii in 2007 while Brand was filming the comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” She also asserted that Brand falsely accused her of having inappropriate affection for her own brother after overhearing a phone call in which she was joking and laughing with him.
Russell Brand, who is now known as a wellness champion with a sizable fan base, has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and abuse by many women in a joint investigation by The Sunday Times and Channel 4. In a video posted on Friday, he clearly denied the accusations, saying, “Amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”
